First Wii U consoles getting bricked and 4 hours update!

5GB update on day one.

If you turn off your console during the update then your console is broken forever!

Oh god, not Kotaku.

And it's not 5GB, it's around 1GB. People think it's 5 because 4GB is already on the console before it comes out of the box, but the firmware update that opens up all the online stuff takes up a further 1GB-ish.

It's embarassing how so many, more respectable, games websites have got this wrong.

1GB download which can be downloaded in the background while playing games, then installed later in a far shorter time.

I want the Wii U to succeed, but wish it had achieves!!!

Same here! Nintendo are known for gaming perfection. I want the Wii U to kick ass so that people will stop saying that all Nintendo are is a bunch of gimmicks!
They revolutionised gaming!! Analogue sticks, memory cards, rumble packs, 3D and of course motion controls and fitness games!

As for the bricking opf consoles, I feel for anyone unfortunate enough to get a powercut at the worst possible time, but that first guy who yanked the plug out mid-update due to impatience? He should have known better.
