Could there be ever be a market for an updated and revamped SNES console?

Images have been leaked of a concept for a re-releasing of the SNES. Dubbed the Super Nintendo Revolution, it is said to be "Just a concept that will never happen"!

Personally, I'd love to see it happen for the nostalgia, but i'd really want it to play the original carts as well as downloads. I love owning hard copies of old games, so if it did get released, but without a cartridge slot, i'd have to think twice.

I would like to think such a concept would sell, but I just can't see it being a success really. I doubt it would happen. What do you guys think? Similar things have been tried with the Megadrive, but they soon faded.

Hmmm! Could be useful as a backup. Backup only though considering the audio and video wont be up to scratch despite what the reviewer says. S-video is the only bonus on that front. Can't believe someone probably got paid to design that ugly thing though!! Very Happy
